Hitter of the Week
LUIS MONTANEZ - WEST TENN DIAMOND JAXX
Diamond Jaxx' rightfielder Luis Montanez swung a hot bat last week, hitting .533 with 5 doubles, a home run, 10 RBI, a .548 on-base percentage and an .800 slugging percentage to earn Hitter of the Week honors. He had at least three hits in four of his seven games this week, including two four-hit performances. On May 10 at Mississippi, Montanez was a perfect 4 for 4 with a double, home run, four RBI, 3 runs scored and a stolen base. He enjoyed a 9-game hitting streak (May 4-12) for the majority of the week, going 22 for 36 (.611) over the span. Currently, Montanez leads the Southern League with a .368 batting average as well as a .441 on-base percentage and ranks second with 49 hits. The Chicago Cubs made the 24-year-old Montanez the third overall pick of the 2000 draft.

Pitcher of the Week
LANCE BROADWAY - BIRMINGHAM BARONS
Barons' right-hander Lance Broadway went 1-0 and did not allow an earned run in two starts on his way to earning Pitcher of the Week honors. On May 8 at Tennessee, he pitched the league's first nine-inning complete-game shutout of the season, allowing just four hits while striking out seven in the winning effort. In his second start of the week, May 13 versus Mississippi, he allowed an unearned run on seven hits and three walks while fanning five but did not receive a decision for his efforts. Broadway currently carries a 15.1 inning streak in which he has not allowed an earned run, dating back to May 3. Broadway leads the Southern League with a 1.42 ERA and 50.2 innings pitched and is tied for third with 4 wins. The Chicago White Sox made the 22-year-old Broadway the fifteenth overall pick in the 2005 draft.
