
Southern Conference All-Star Starters Announced

The 2008 Central Hockey League (CHL) All-Star game is scheduled for Wednesday, January 16th at the Broomfield Event Center and today the CHL announced the starting line-up for the Southern Conference. The starters were selected following completion of balloting among all CHL Head Coaches, Communications Departments and selected media members in each market.
The three top teams in the Southern Conference comprise all six positions in the starting line-up. Laredo is represented with three starters, Arizona two and Odessa the remaining starter.
The Bucks will place forward Jeff Bes, defenseman Serge Dube and goaltender Dustin Traylen on the starting unit. Bes will be making his third all-star appearance and is currently tied for fourth in the CHL with 40 points (16-24=40). The veteran forward was the top vote-getter for the Southern Conference appearing on 35 of 42 completed ballots. Dube will also be appearing in his third all-star game and is currently tied for third among defensemen in scoring with 26 points (6-20=26). Traylen will be making his first CHL all-star appearance and is tied for second in wins with 12. His overall record is 12-6-1 with a 2.20 goals against average (sixth in the CHL) and three shutouts.
Arizona has two representatives in the starting line-up with forward Tyler Redenbach and defenseman Sean Sullivan. The duo is currently on re-call with the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League (AHL). Redenbach is currently atop the CHL scoring list with 44 points (12-32=44) recording a point in each of the 21 games he has played this season (the league's longest point streak since 2003-04 season). Sullivan, a CHL rookie, is fifth among defensemen with 25 points (9-16=25).
The other starter for the Southern Conference is Odessa's Dominic Leveille who will be appearing in his second all-star game. The forward is tops in the league with 18 goals and is sixth with 39 points (18-21=39).
