Hounds To Host Coat Drive This Weekend
December 27, 2007 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Youngstown SteelHounds News Release
YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO - The Youngstown SteelHounds announced today that the wives and girlfriends of the SteelHounds players will host a coat drive to benefit Amazing Grace for Battered Woman and Children. The coat drive will happen this Friday and Saturday night when the Hounds host the Mississippi RiverKings for a pair of 7:05pm tilts. All fans that donate a coat will receive a ticket to a Hounds Wednesday night home game.
Earlier this season the wives and girlfriends held a 50/50 raffle with the proceeds going to Amazing Grace. "The reason I chose Amazing Grace is because I grew up knowing women that were battered who never had assistance to escape their situation," said Melissa Richards the wife of SteelHounds captain Chris Richards. "We are honored to be able to help families in the Mahoning Valley where we now reside."
Along with the coat drive there is a great weekend of promotions at the Chevrolet Centre. Friday night the first 1,500 fans will receive the first set of SteelHounds trading cards courtesy of Pegasus Printing Group. The Hounds will be wearing Ohio State jerseys all weekend long with the game worn jerseys being auctioned off after Saturday night's game.
Tickets for both games are on sale now for as little as $8 with great group rates available. Stop by the Chevrolet Centre box office or call the SteelHounds at (330) 747-PUCK.
