March 20, 2022 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Seattle Sounders FC News Release
SEATTLE, WASH. - After a 4-1 aggregate win over Liga MX side Club León to advance to the 2022 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Semifinals, Sounders FC (1-2-0, 3 points) looks to get its first road points of the 2022 MLS regular season Sunday afternoon against Austin FC (2-1-0, 6 points) at Q2 Stadium (1:30 p.m. PT / FS1, 1090 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM). The matchup marks only the third all-time meeting between the two sides, with Austin FC joining MLS as an expansion side last year.
Tacoma Defiance goalkeeper Wallis Lapsley is available for the club's match today at Austin FC via a Short-Term Agreement. Injuries to players on Seattle's roster have made the Seattle eligible for Extreme Hardship. As a result, the Rave Green have Lapsley from the club's MLS NEXT Pro squad available on short-term loan, making him eligible today.
Following Sunday's match, the Rave Green head to the international break before traveling for a matchup with Minnesota United FC on (2-0-2, 8 points) on Saturday, April 2 (5:00 p.m. PT / FOX 13, Prime Video, El Rey 1360 AM).
