
Sounders FC Fans Encouraged to Plan Ahead for Saturday's Match

RENTON, Wash. - Sounders FC encourage fans attending Saturday's match versus the Chicago Fire to plan ahead and arrive well in advance of kickoff to ensure smooth access into the stadium as handheld metal detectors will be utilized at all gates. G ates open at 5:30 p.m. and first kick is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Sounders FC fans should also be aware of the annual Chinatown Autumn Moon Festival at Union Station Plaza that will impact Fifth Avenue South between South Jackson and South Weller streets before and after the match. The event features live music, food, dance, culture, and crafts. Additionally, the Seattle Mariners host the Tampa Bay Rays at Safeco Field at 6:10 p.m.
Fans are invited to visit www.wsdot.wa.gov/traffic/seattle for the most updated travel information, real-time traffic maps and travel times. Roads and off-ramps that will be impacted this weekend include the following:
Northbound I-5 ramp to upper S. Spokane St./West Seattle Bridge Northbound I-5 ramp to lower S. Spokane St./6th Avenue South Northbound I-5 ramp to Beacon Hill via S. Columbian Way Spokane St./West Seattle Bridge detour: Northbound I-5 to exit 164B/Edgar Martinez Drive to First Avenue South to South Spokane Street

March to the Match activities begin at 5:30 p.m. at Occidental Park in Pioneer Square.
Fans are invited to check-out the new Brougham Beer Hall, located on the main concourse at the southwest corner of the stadium, to take advantage of the $5 domestic beers and $6 craft pints promotion. The promotion is also available at all concession stands from the time gates open until 30 minutes before kickoff.
