MLS Disciplinary Committee Decisions: Week 27
September 6, 2013 - Major League Soccer (MLS) News Release
NEW YORK (September 6, 2013) - The MLS Disciplinary Committee has issued a one-game suspension and fine to Houston Dynamo midfielder Oscar Boniek Garcia for his reckless challenge that endangered the safety of his opponent, Chicago Fire midfielder Patrick Nyarko, in the 75th minute of their Sept. 1 game. Boniek Garcia will serve his suspension Sept. 14 when the Dynamo play against Philadelphia Union.
The MLS Disciplinary Committee has determined that Real Salt Lake and the Portland Timbers violated the League's mass confrontation policy during their Aug. 30 game. This is Real Salt Lake's second offense and therefore the club and Head Coach Jason Kreis have been fined. The Portland Timbers are subject to fines for subsequent violations.
