Sound Tigers Re-Up with Andrew Rowe

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today that Andrew Rowe has agreed to terms on a one-year, American Hockey League contract for the 2016-17 season.

Rowe, 28, split last season between the Sound Tigers and South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL. He recorded eight points (7 goals and 1 assist) in 11 games with Bridgeport and added 21 points (7 goals and 14 assists), eight penalty minutes and a +7 rating in 28 contests with South Carolina.

A native of Muskegon, MI, Rowe has played 140 games during his AHL career with Bridgeport, the Charlotte Checkers, Adirondack Phantoms, Hartford Wolf Pack and Norfolk Admirals. He made his pro debut with Adirondack on October 8, 2010. In addition, the seven-year veteran winger has played 214 games in the ECHL with the Greenville Road Warriors, Elmira Jackals and South Carolina. He finished second in playoff scoring for the Stingrays in 2014-15, with 15 goals and 19 assists, leading the club to the Kelly Cup Finals.

Prior to turning pro, the 6'2, 195-pound forward played three seasons at Michigan State University from 2007-10. In 94 career games, he notched 49 points (26g, 23a) and a +6 rating, and served as an alternate captain during his senior season.
