Sound Tigers Announce Training Camp Roster

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers have announced their 2016 training camp roster, which includes the 29 players that will take the ice on Monday for the first practice session. The group includes 17 forwards, nine defensemen and three goaltenders.

Among those players, six were assigned by the New York Islanders, including Bracken Kearns and Ben Holmstrom who each cleared waivers on Saturday. The Sound Tigers have also signed the following 10 players to tryouts: Rocco Carzo (F), Dan Correale (F), Eric Hartzell (G), Derik Johnson (D), Jon Landry (D), Kevin Morris (F), Samuel Noreau (D), Darren Nowick (F), Shawn Pauly (F), Nick Petrecki (D) and Clay Witt (G).

The full list of players who will report to training camp at 10 a.m. on Monday at Webster Bank Arena includes:

Forwards (17): Aaron Berisha, Rocco Carzo, Dan Correale, Ben Holmstrom, Josh Holmstrom, Connor Jones, Kellen Jones, Bracken Kearns, Lukas Lofquist, Kevin Morris, Darren Nowick, Shawn Pauly, Andrew Rowe, Kyle Schempp, Travis St. Denis, Carter Verhaeghe and Josh Winquist.

Defensemen (9): Patrick Cullity, Derik Johnson, Luke Juha, Kane Lafranchise, Jon Landry, Loic Leduc, Samuel Noreau, Ryan Obuchowski and Nick Petrecki.

Goaltenders (2): Eric Hartzell, Eamon McAdam and Clay Witt

Aside from tomorrow's session at Webster Bank Arena, all training camp practices will be held at Wonderland of Ice in Bridgeport and will be open to the public free of charge, with media availability following each session. The Sound Tigers' 2016 preseason schedule will feature two exhibition games beginning Wednesday, October 5 when the team travels to Trinity College in Hartford for a 7 p.m. puck drop against the Wolf Pack. The preseason slate will conclude Saturday, October 8 at Wonderland of Ice against the Providence Bruins at 7 p.m.

Opening Night: The Sound Tigers celebrate the start of a new season on Saturday, October 15 by giving away free magnet schedules to the first 2,000 fans presented by the CT Department of Transportation. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the puck drops at 7 p.m. against the Providence Bruins at Webster Bank Arena. Make it a family night and enjoy the Kid Zone on the Plaza presented by Big Y. In addition, receive $5.00 off your game ticket at the box office when showing your AAA Membership Card before October 14 at 5 p.m.

Storm Team Mascot Garden Gnome Giveaway: Be one of the first 2,000 fans on Saturday, October 29 and receive a free Storm garden gnome courtesy of Buckle Up Connecticut. Plus, receive $2.00 off your game ticket at the box office when you show your AAA Membership Card.
