Sound signs former Chicago Bull Charles Jones

Long Island, NY. The ABA Strong Island Sound announced that they have signed point guard Charles Jones. The 6'3" Brooklyn-born Jones led the nation in scoring while at LIU in 1997 and 1998. He made it to the NBA and Played for the Chicago Bulls (1999) and Los Angeles Clippers (2000).

Darren Cioffi, Sound co-Owner and GM stated, "We are excited to add such a talent to the team. Charles will add to the quality basketball we already have." He averaged 30.1ppg in 1996-97 and 29.0ppg in 1997-98 to become just the seventh player in NCAA history to win consecutive scoring titles. he had a memorable career with the Blackbirds who captured the 1997 NEC regular season and tournament titles and became the first NEC tam to lead the nation in scoring.

Jones was signed by the Chicago Bulls as a free agent where he played 29 games and then moved onto the Clippers and played 56 games. He then played professionally in Italy, Greece, Israel, Argentina, and Bulgaria and has played against some NBA players in Rucker Park ball.
