Soul's Morgan Receives Weekly League Award

PHILADELPHIA (May 29, 2012) - The Arena Football League has announced that Soul wide receiver Donovan Morgan (6'3, 225, Pearl River C.C.) has earned Cutter's Catch of the Week honors for his performance on the road against the Cleveland Gladiators on Saturday, May 26.

In his first game back after being sidelined by a wrist injury, Morgan showed no signs that he had not played a game in seven weeks. Morgan made the award-winning, one-handed touchdown catch with 1:25 remaining in the game. The catch put a flourish on the Soul's 55-33 victory over the Gladiators.

Morgan's Cutter's Catch was not his only highpoint of the game. Against the Gladiators, he caught nine passes for 84 yards and two touchdowns with a long of 22 yards. In only four games this season, the Captain has compiled 32 receptions for 297 yards and 10 touchdowns. Morgan averages 74.2 yards a game and 9.3 per reception and is third on the team in receiving touchdowns despite missing time.

The Philadelphia Soul (8-3) return home to the Wells Fargo Center after their 55-33 victory in Cleveland to take on the Orlando Predators. The Soul are now first in the American Conference and in a four-way tie for the best record in the League. Kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m. on Saturday, June 2 at the Wells Fargo Center.
