Jacksonville Sharks News Release

JACKSONVILLE - The ArenaBowl XXIV Champion Jacksonville Sharks announced Wednesday that defensive back Micheaux Robinson has been placed on the other league exempt list. Robinson has signed a contract with the Canadian Football League's Montreal Alouettes.

The 29-year-old Robinson had returned for his third season in Jacksonville following his acquisition in a May 11 trade with the Philadelphia Soul. Against the Iowa Barnstormers in Week 11, Robinson notched two first-half interceptions, broke up six passes and recorded 6.5 total tackles. In last Friday's win over the Orlando Predators, Robinson led the Sharks with five total tackles and recorded two pass breakups.

After making his Arena Football League debut with the Orlando Predators, Robinson was a cornerstone of the Jacksonville defense through the 2010 and 2011 seasons. Robinson led the Sharks with eight interceptions and 23 pass breakups in 2010 and took his game to another level a year later. In the Sharks' ArenaBowl-winning 2011 season, Robinson recorded 11 interceptions and 46 pass breakups, establishing new single-season team records in each category. His performance earned Robinson a spot on the 2011 All-Arena First Team.

Before beginning his professional career, the Fostoria, Ohio native played collegiately at Otterbein University. Should Robinson return to the AFL this season, he would remain assigned to the Sharks' roster.

On Wednesday, the team also announced that wide receiver V'Keon Lacey has been activated from league suspension. Following the day's transactions, Jacksonville's roster stands at the AFL limit of 24 active players.
