Solomon Asante and Junior Flemmings Named to USL Team of the Week

PHOENIX - Phoenix Rising teammates Solomon Asante and Junior Flemmings were both named to the USL Team of the Week for Week 20 of the 2019 USL Championship season the league announced today.

Asante scored a brace, notched an assist, and created five chances in the club's 6-0 win over Austin Bold FC last Friday night. Asante currently leads USL Championship in goals scored (14) and assists (11). Last week he was the fastest player to double-digit goals and assists (18 matches) in league history.

Flemmings contributed two assists to the scoring effort and also contributed to the club's clean sheet by winning 12 of 16 duals and making 11 recoveries.

This is the second time this season two Rising players have been named to the Team of the Week. The first occurred in Week 16 when Asante and Adam Jahn both received the honor. This is also the 14th week this season a Rising FC player has been recognized by the league and the sixth consecutive week the team has gotten a player on the team of the week.

Asante has been honored by the league seven times this season and four of the last six weeks. Flemmings receives a league honor for the third time this season.

Phoenix Rising and its ten-match winning streak, heads on the road to Tulsa this Saturday, July 27, to take on Roughnecks FC. The match will air live on Your PHX CW (channels 6 & 61.1) and online at ArizonaSports.com with kickoff at 5:30 p.m. Fans can also attend one of two official watch parties at the Vine Tavern or Philly's Sports Grill (both in Tempe).
