San Diego Sockers News Release

SAN DIEGO - The Pacific Division Champion San Diego Sockers (18-3) close out the 2017-18 MASL season on Saturday, March 3, 7:05 p.m., at Valley View Casino Center against the El Paso Coyotes. It will be Fan Appreciation Night, featuring a FREE Juli Veee Vintage Sockers T-Shirt to the first 2,000 fans, $2 Bud Lights and the annual All-Star Celebrity Game at halftime. With a win, San Diego will have the second-best record in the MASL (19-3), have won seven straight matches and finished undefeated at home (11-0).

El Paso comes to town on Saturday after playing on Friday in Turlock. The Coyotes are out of playoff contention but have been playing well of late with a two-game win streak. Their leading scorer is Christian Guiterrez with 35 goals and 12 assists for 47 points.

The Sockers have a lot to look forward to beginning on March 8 against Tacoma in the playoffs; however, they cannot look past the visiting Coyotes. San Diego has dispatched their last six opponents in a workmanlike manner, and they must continue to do that to win the game. The goalkeeper tandem of Boris Pardo and Chris Toth continues to be ranked #1 and #2 in the league. Kraig Chiles surpassed the 50 point scoring mark with his two goals and one assist performance last night in Ontario for a total of 52.

San Diego starts the 2018 MASL Ron Newman Cup playoffs on the road in Tacoma against the Stars in Game One of the Divisional Championship Series. Game Two and the possible Mini-Game will be held at Valley View Casino Center on Saturday, March 10, 7:05 p.m. E-Z Priced Playoff Tickets are being offered at two levels; Gold Reserved Seats at $20 and Blue GA Open Seating for only $10 at AXS.com or by calling 866-799-4625 (GOAL).
