Sockers Plan Full Night Of Entertainment

The San Diego Sockers will take on the Dallas Sidekicks, Sunday, Jan. 12 at 6 p.m. at the San Diego Sports Arena. The first 5,000 fans will receive Rally Towels, courtesy of UPS. Fans will have the opportunity to watch indoor soccer legend Tatu in his final appearance as a player in America¹s Finest City.

In addition to the game, the Sockers present Sockers Fiesta II. Sockers Fiesta II is a night of entertainment with a Latino flare. Mariachis from Chula Vista and the Hilltop High School Ballet Folklorico will perform before the game and at halftime.

The Sockers will also introduce their inaugural "Scout Night". Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts are eligible for half-priced admission ($10 terrace seats for just $5) to Sunday¹s game. Tickets for the Scout Night promotion must be pre-purchased no later than Friday at 5 p.m., at the San Diego Sockers office. Please call the Sockers ticket office, 858.836.GOAL, for more details.

The Sockers, in cooperation with US Soccer and the Spirit, offer a unique soccer double-header opportunity. Fans attending the U.S. vs. Japan women¹s afternoon match at Torero Stadium can bring their ticket stubs to the Sports Arena Box Office for half off individual ticket prices. Tickets range in price from $10-$25.

The San Diego Sockers will also be hosting a book drive, benefiting Tijuana schools. Fans that bring three or more books, either English or Spanish, will be entered to win a free soccer clinic, courtesy of the Sockers.

The game is the fifth in a series of six televised games. All Sockers games can be seen live on Cox Channel 4 San Diego. Fans can also tune in live to KPOP 1360 AM or Radio Unica 1470 AM (Spanish). A live audio webcast can be heard by logging on to webcast.sockers.com.

Next Home Game: Thursday, Feb. 6 vs. Harrisburg Heat The first 5,000 fans will receive a free Sockers pennant, courtesy of Papa Murphy¹s Take ŒN Bake Pizza. Former Sockers legendary coach Ron Newman will be honored for his induction into the San Diego Hall of Champions on February 5.
