Sockers announce 2004-05 MISL schedule

San Diego Sockers News Release
SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The San Diego Sockers announced today that the team
will begin its quest for an 11th indoor soccer title on Saturday, October
9th at the San Diego Sports Arena. The Sockers will face the 2003 and 2004
MISL Champion, Baltimore Blast. The teams will battle again the following
weekend in the Baltimore's home opener on Saturday, October 16 at 1st
Mariner Arena.
The 2004-05 MISL season will showcase a number of different opponents and
various game-themes, beginning with the home opener. The Baltimore Blast
and San Diego Sockers is a classic indoor soccer match-up, while the
presence of Military Night, Pet Adoption Night and Ball Night should create
a unique and energetic atmosphere. The ³Kidz Zone² will be set up in the
Sports Arena' parking lot featuring an obstacle course, inflatables and
slides. Operation Gratitude will take donations of non-perishable items,
such as canned goods, DVD's, books and magazines, and a $1 from each
advanced Military ticket sale will go toward Operation Home Front.
The Sockers will play 40 games this season; 20 at the Sports Arena and 20 on
the road. Fourteen of the 20 home games will be played on Friday and
Saturday nights at 7:05 p.m., with six home games scheduled on Sundays,
kicking-off at 5:05 p.m.
The Sockers will play in the Western Division along with the Kansas City
Comets and Monterrey Fury. The Central Division will consist of the
expansion Chicago Storm, Milwaukee Wave and St. Louis Steamers. The Eastern
Division will consist of the Cleveland Force, Baltimore Blast and
Philadelphia KiXX.
Sockers' season tickets and mini-flex plans are on sale now by calling the
Sockers' office at 858-836-4625(GOAL). Single-game tickets will go on sale
in late September. Tickets will be available at the Sports Arena Box Office
and can also be ordered by calling TicketMaster at 619-220-TIXS and online
