Snappers Release Promotional Schedule

February 21, 2008 - Midwest League (MWL) - Beloit Snappers News Release

The Beloit Snappers are proud to announce the 2008 promotional schedule for their upcoming season. Fifteen fireworks shows, three bobbleheads, and nine other giveaways highlight the fourth year the Snappers have been affiliated with the Minnesota Twins and their 27th season overall.

Former Snapper/current Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Yovani Gallardo, former Snapper pitcher/Gold Medal Winner Brian Duensing, and former Snapper/current Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks make up the three bobbleheads that will be given away this season. The Gallardo (June 1st), Duensing (July 20th), and Weeks (August 3rd) bobblehead days require fans to be one of the first 500 in attendance to receive a wristband good for one bobblehead. The bobbleheads will then be distributed to those fans that have a wristband after the fifth inning of that game day.

The 15 fireworks shows this season will be held on May 17th, May 23rd, May 24th, June 12th, June 27th, June 28th, July 4th, July 18th, July 19th, August 1st, August 2nd, August 9th, August 15th, August 30th, and August 31st. Over the last three seasons the Snappers have averaged over 2,500 fans per game on fireworks nights.

Aside from bobbleheads and fireworks, the Snappers also have nine other giveaways lined up for the upcoming season. Snappy and his pals will be giving away magnet schedules (April 3rd), stress balls (April 20th), bandanas (May 16th), junk balls (May 18th), pennies (May 23rd), team photos (May 25th), t-shirts (June 12th), Snappy banks (August 10th), and autographed baseballs (August 29th).

This year the Snappers will also host five church days (April 16th, May 14th, June 11th, July 16th, and August 13th), school day (April 30th), 4-H day (June 30th), and kid's camp day (July 21st).

Snappy is looking forward to hosting multiple theme nights throughout the season. In 2008, fans will enjoy cowboy/cowgirl night (May 24th), ladies night (June 10th), redneck night (June 27th), batman night (July 18th), techno music night (August 2nd), Pohlman Field sleep over night (August 3rd), 80's night (August 9th), and scout night (August 15th).

Deck parties have been a huge hit in the past and the Snappers are proud to bring them back for the '08 campaign. "Defending the West in ‘08" on June 12th and "Summertime Beach Party" on August 14th make up the two annual fundraising parties this season. Both deck parties are fully catered by Kandu/Best Event's Catering.

Finally, the Snappers are proud to bring back the ever popular SnapperPalooza on August 31st. This will be the fourth annual event with live music and fireworks to follow the game.

"We have so many different promotions this year, it seems like every game has something going on," said Assistant General Manager Riley Gostisha. "A special thanks goes out to all our sponsors for making this upcoming season the most exciting to date. Opening Day will be here before you know it, and we are ready to get things rolling here at beautiful Pohlman Field."
