Columbus Cottonmouths News Release

COLUMBUS, Ga. - Forward Lorne Misita and center Daryl Moor are returning to the Columbus Cottonmouths for this upcoming season. This is the third season for both players. The Columbus Cottonmouths are also welcoming new arrival Jeff Moor for his debut season as a Snake.

Lorne Misita came to the Cottonmouths in 2004. He ended the 2004-2005 season by leading the team with 74 points and a plus-minus of +18. He started off the 2005-2006 season with the Youngstown Steelhounds, and ended the season in Columbus, with a total of 25 goals, 33 assists, and 58 points. Misita is originally from Niagara Falls, Ontario. Coach Jerome Bechard knew that Misita was a vital player to the team once he came back. "With Lorne being gone at the beginning of last season, we realized that he was the missing piece of the puzzle," Bechard said. "I am looking for him to be a big scorer right out of the gate this season."

Daryl Moor is also returning to the Cottonmouths this season. Before joining the Cottonmouths, he was a member of the New Mexico Scorpions. Moor tallied 284 penalty minutes in 2005-2006 and finished the season with 4 goals and 16 assists. "Daryl portrays a lot of experience and feistiness to the team," states Bechard. "He displays a relentless work ethic and I believe that this will be the season where Daryl will step up to the leadership position."

Jeff Moor will be joining the Cottonmouths for the 2006-2007 season, alongside his brother Daryl. The Kettleby, Ontario native has previously played for the Cobourg Cougars, the Stouffville Spirit, and the Owen Sound Attack, where he tallied 3 goals, 6 assists, equaling 9 points to end the 2005-2006 season. When asked about Moor, Bechard replied, "Jeff is young and he is a big defenseman. I am expecting to see him take care of his big brother [Daryl] while on the ice. Moor is going to be attending the South Carolina Stingrays camp along with Mark Prentice. We hope to see him at the start of our camp, when South Carolina is done with their camp."

The season opener is on its way. Don't miss your chance to catch all of the action! Call the Cottonmouths office at (706) 571-0086 to reserve your seat today!
