Jacksonville Barracudas News Release
The Jacksonville Barracudas are proud to announce the signing of Canadian forward Ryan Thompson. Thompson last played for the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League, against new Barracudas Head Coach Rick Allain.
Coach Allain admired Thompson as an opponent, and looks forward to having him on the same side in Jacksonville.
"Ryan plays a hard hitting game and demonstrates tremendous character, which I consider a huge priority for this season's team", said Coach Allain. "He's a smart hockey player, and I expect that he will fit in well with the organization."
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Thompson played three seasons with the Storm, scoring 4 goals and 9 assists and racking up 126 penalty minutes in 61 games in his final season.
The Barracudas' first home game of the 2006-2007 season is on Saturday, November 4th, at 7:05pm. For information on Barracudas season tickets or Flex Packs contact the Barracudas office at 904-367-1423, or visit the team's website at www.jaxcudas.com.
