Snakes release complete schedule

The Columbus Cottonmouths have announced their complete 60-game schedule for the 2008-09 season. The schedule features 30 games each home and away, spanning from Oct. 24 to March 21, 2009.

The Snakes open the season at home Friday, Oct. 24 against the rival Huntsville Havoc, and cap off opening weekend playing host to the defending SPHL-champion Knoxville Ice Bears, Saturday, Oct. 25.

Columbus will face Huntsville 15 times in the regular season, while taking on Knoxville 14 times, Twin City 12, Fayetteville 10 and Richmond 9 times each.

The Snakes home schedule consists of 11 Fridays, 10 Saturdays, five Thursdays and four Tuesdays, with several holiday home games including Thanksgiving, Christmas and St. Patrick's Day. All home games are slated for 7:30 p.m. EST.

The Cottonmouths have signed six returning players for the 2008-09 season, including goaltender Chad Rycroft, forwards Craig Stahl and Orrin Hergott, and defensemen Jason Schulz, Andrew Dwyer and Tyler Johnson. All were members of the 2007-08 team, with the exception of Rycroft who was with the Snakes from 2004-07.

Season tickets are on sale now, with early bird special pricing available until Sept. 1. All season ticket holders, both new and renewing, must reserve their seats by August 15 at 4 p.m. in order to receive the exclusive ticket booklet.
