
Snakes Reading Challenge Tuesday and Wednesday

The entire Columbus Cottonmouths hockey team will be participating in a Reading Challenge today and tomorrow, Feb. 8 and 9, within local elementary schools from approximately 9 am to 12 pm.
Two Snakes players will visit each school, with nine schools participating each day. Players will read 'The Hockey Sweater' by Roch Carrier to each individual classroom within their assigned school.
On Tuesday, Feb. 8, players will be visiting Oliver, Mulberry Creek, Dawson, Park, New Mountain Hill, Reese Road, Blanchard, Edgewood and Gentian Elementary schools. On Wednesday, Feb. 9, players will be visiting Dixie, Pine Ridge, Dimon, Downtown Magnet Academy, Eagle Ridge, JD Davis, Lonnie Jackson, Double Churches and Wesley Heights Elementary schools.
In addition to having Snakes players read to them, students at each of these schools will receive a voucher, good for a free child's ticket to our Sunday, Feb. 20 game at 4 p.m. Students will also be voting on one of three final designs of Snakes goaltender Andrew Loewen's new hockey mask. The winning mask will be revealed and worn by Loewen on Sunday, Feb. 20 when the Snakes face the Knoxville Ice Bears.
