Columbus Cottonmouths News Release
The Columbus Cottonmouths have signed defenseman Jason Slusher to a contract. He is expected to be in uniform tonight when the Snakes take on the Fayetteville FireAntz at the Snake Pit.
A Bel Air, Maryland native, Slusher played a game this season with the Bloomington Prairie Thunder. He spent the 2007-08 season with the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the CHL, picking up 12 points in 53 games.
This is Slusher's second stint in the SPHL. He played the 2006-07 season with PeeDee Cyclones, now known as the Twin City Cyclones. There, he registered 21 points in 53 games.
Slusher will provide some relief as the Snakes have been shorthanded due to injuries. Snakes forward Orrin Hergott returns to the lineup tonight, after two months on the Injured Reserve. However, Andrew Dwyer has been added to the 30-day IR, and Jason Schulz was placed on the season-ending IR.
The Snakes take on the FireAntz Thursday and the Huntsville Havoc Friday. The Cottonmouths will be wearing commemorative Children's Miracle Network jerseys both nights, to be auctioned after Friday's game. A portion of the proceeds will go to CMN.
Thursday is Georgia Lottery Night, with the first 500 fans, 18+, receiving a scratch-off ticket. Dollar hotdogs will be available through Aramark. On Friday, Love's Diamond Exchange will give away a 1-carat diamond ring. Fans can register for their chance to win at the Fan Activities Center. The jersey auction will take place in the hospitality suites following the game.
