
Snake Charmers To Visit Troops At Fort Hood

CHARLOTTE Â Four members of the Snake Charmers, the dance team of the Arena Football League's Carolina Cobras, will travel to Fort Hood, Texas this weekend to visit troops at the largest active duty armed post in the United States Armed Services.
The four Snake Charmers  Courtney Gillentine, Kristy Palmer, Keasha Rutledge and Jenna Tugwell  and choreographer Brandii McCoy will arrive on Friday, May 30 and remain in Texas through Sunday, June 1. This is the first of two visits by the Snake Charmers. Later this year, the entire squad will go back to Fort Hood to perform.
Fort Hood is located in Central Texas, 60 miles north of Austin, and covers a total of 340 square miles. It is the home for 47,000 soldiers and 30,000 children and is the only post in the United States capable of holding and training two full armored divisions. Fort Hood is home to the troops of the 1st Calvary Division, the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized), the 13th Corps Support Command, the Headquarters Command III Corps and the 3rd Signal Brigade along with various other units and tenant organizations.
On Friday, the Snake Charmers will visit soldiers in their work areas, view Apache and Blackhawk helicopters and mingle at the Officer Club. Saturday's activities include visiting additional soldiers and an afternoon autograph session at the Clear Creek PX.
