NEW YORK – With a win at Tampa Bay this Saturday in the Quarterfinal Round of the 2003 playoffs (NBC, 3 p.m. ET), Detroit Fury head coach AL LUGINBILL will become the 11th rookie head coach all-time to advance to the Semifinal Round. Only two first-year head coaches have won the ArenaBowl title in AFL history – FRAN CURCI with Tampa Bay in 1991 and current Orlando Predators QB JAY GRUDEN, as the Predators head coach in 1998. The following are rookie head coaches who advanced to the ArenaBowl championship game:
