
Smyth Extends Point Streak in Outlaws' Loss

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa -- Matt Smyth was able to find the twine on a beautiful move that saw him go from a toe drag to the backhand to extend his point streak to 11 games, however, that was the only beautiful sight the Outlaws saw in their 4-2 loss to the Danville Dashers.
Martin Moucha got the Outlaws on the board early with his fifth goal of the season at the 1:10 mark of the period from Trevor Karasiewicz, who picked up his FHL leading 18th assist on the goal. The Outlaws were unable to turn the goal I to any positive momentum.
Danville would beat starting goalie Mike DiLorenzo twice in the first period within 21 seconds of each other. The tying goal was scored by Chris Affinati at the 16:06 mark and the go-ahead goal at the time was scored by Justin Levac at the 16:27 mark.
Smyth's goal tied the game in the second period, but was the last goal that the Outlaws would score on the night. Danville however would go-ahead for good at the 8:05 mark when Lee McClure beat DiLorenzo on a one-timer from the blue line. DiLorenzo was replaced by Chris Whitley after the goal.
DiLorenzo finished the night giving up the three goals on 15 shots faced in 28:47 of play.
The Dashers would add a third period goal at the 6:33 mark when Jonathan Juliano beat Whitley to make it 4-2.
Whitley would finish the night giving up just one goal on 14 shots faced in 29:40 of play.
Kyle McClure played outstanding for the Dashers between the pipes only allowing two goals on 37 shots faced, coming away with the first star honors in the win.
Though the Outlaws outshot the Dashers, 37-29, Williamsport was only able to rip off five shots in the third period.
Williamsport falls to 4-1-2-6 on the season while Danville improves to 2-1-1-6 on the young season.
