
Smokies Pitching Shuts Down Diamond Jaxx

Sevierville, Tenn. - Smokies starter Dan Haren earned his third win of the season as Tennessee (11-7) defeated the West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx (10-8) 3-2 Tuesday at Smokies Park. Haren pitched eight strong innings giving up only four hits and one earned run. Smokies closer Mike Lyons shut the door in the ninth earning his seventh save of the season.
Yadier Molina who had three hits including two RBIs led the Smokies offense. Tennessee's Scott Krause scored a run offensively and defensively, as he robbed West Tennessee's Nick Ortiz of a home run in the fifth inning.
The Smokies and the Diamond Jaxx meet again Wednesday at 7:15. West Tennessee's Aaron Krawiec (2-0, 2.65) will start against Nick Stocks (1-0, 3.18).
