Jackson, Tenn. - Papo Bolivar and Corey Erickson each hit two run home runs and the Smokies opened a four game series in Jackson with their largest offensive outburst of the season in a 10-2 win. The Smokies notched new season highs for runs and hits (19).
Kevan Burns, Caonabo Cosme, Bolivar, Yadier Molina, and John Nelson each turned in three hit efforts for the Smokies. Tennessee turned around a 1-1 game in the third when Bolivar connected on his first home run of the season off Mike Nannini (L, 1-1). Nannini was tagged for seven runs over 3 2/3 innings with the final two coming on Bolivar's bases loaded two run single in the fourth.
Juan Pena (1-2) earned his first win of the season by allowing just two runs over six innings. Jeremy Lambert, Kevin Sprague, and Cheyenne Janke combined to hold West Tenn scoreless over the final three innings.
The series continues Friday night with Rhett Parrott (1-1, 3.10) starting for the Smokies opposite Angel Guzman (0-1, 4.00).
