
John Rocker Joins O-Rays For Tonight's Game vs. The Barons

The Orlando Rays have announced that former major league closer John Rocker has joined their team and will be dressed and in uniform for tonight's game between the Barons and the O-Rays at 6:05 pm CDT. Rocker, 28, signed a minor league contract with Tampa on April 10, and has spent the last three weeks in extended spring training. The fiery left-hander has spent parts of five years in the majors, including three years with the Atlanta Braves, where he racked up 38 saves en route to the Braves' 1999 National League East Division Championship. In five years in the majors, Rocker earned 88 saves with a 3.40 ERA in 278 games.
