
Smokies-Barons Postponed, DH Set for Sunday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Tennessee Smokies' (42-37, 5-5) game against the Birmingham Barons (36-43, 5-5) Saturday night at Regions Field has been postponed due to inclement weather.
The Smokies and the Barons will play a single-admission doubleheader on Sunday, July 10 at 3 p.m. EST to make up Saturday's originally scheduled contest. The second game will start no earlier than 5 p.m ET, and both games will be seven innings.
The Smokies are looking to clinch a series-win in game one when they send RHP Walker Powell (0-1, 4.50) to face Birmingham's RHP Sean Burke (1-3, 5.46). Game two will feature Peyton Remy (5-2, 7.74) against Scott Blewett (3-3, 5.35). The Smokies will host the Biloxi Shuckers in its next homestand July 12-17 at Smokies Stadium. Thursday, July 14 is Throwback and Dollar-Hot-Dog Night. Smokies Stadium will host Corona Hard Seltzer Night on July 15, and Saturday, July 16 will be Grateful Dead Night featuring a postgame concert by The Stolen Faces.
