
Sliders Routed By Cavemen In Series Finale

The Hannibal Cavemen knocked off the Springfield Sliders for the fourth straight time this season at Clemens Field in Hannibal, MO by a final score of 14-6. The Cavemen started the scoring in the third inning, turning a Sliders' error into a run. The Cavemen added three in the fourth to go up 4-0, but the Sliders' answered with three of their own to cut the lead down to one at 4-3. Hannibal would then score five in the fifth and three in the sixth to put the game out of reach. The Cavemen would add to more in the eighth to make it 14-3 heading into the ninth. The Sliders' bats woke up in the ninth, however, their rally only yielded three runs to end hopes of a comeback. The Sliders will look to turn their luck around tomorrow then they return home to begin a two game weekend series against the Danville Dans. First pitch is scheduled for 8:05 and can be heard on the Sliders' Ustream channel.
The Springfield Sliders are members of the Prospect League, playing at historic Robin Roberts Stadium. The Sliders are members of the Western Division along with the Danville (IL) Dans, DuBois County (IN) Bombers, Hannibal (MO) Cavemen, Quincy (IL) Gems, and Terre Haute (IN) Rex.
