
Slammers to Play Exhibition Game at Benedictine University

Joliet, IL - The Joliet Slammers presented by ATI Physical Therapy announce they will take their show on the road to Lisle, Illinois to play an exhibition game against the Rockford Aviators at the Village of Lisle-Benedictine University Sports Complex baseball field on Monday, May 11 at 7:05 PM. The Slammers goal for this game is to expose the exciting Frontier League baseball brand to our surrounding communities.Tickets for the game are just $5 and can be purchased online at jolietslammers.com/tickets or by calling 815-722-2287.
The Frontier League was formed in 1993, and is the oldest operating independent league. With the debut of Brandon Cunniff for the Atlanta Braves earlier this month, the Frontier League has now sent 27 players to the major league level. During the 2014 season, over 60 players from Frontier League teams were picked up by Major League organizations and moved into affiliated baseball. The Slammers organization has sent 15 players to affiliated ball since the team's inception in 2011, including Jake Gronsky and Grant DeBruin from the 2014 team.
In addition to the game at Benedictine, the Slammers will play a 10:05 AM exhibition game on Wednesday, May 6th and a 7:05 PM exhibition game on Friday, May 8th. Schools or groups interested in the May 6th game should call the Slammers at 815-722-2287 to receive special pricing. The Friday night exhibition will feature tickets for just $5 and the opportunity to try out new food items and meet the newest members of the Joliet Slammers. Slammers players will be available after the game for pictures and autographs.
The Joliet Slammers presented by ATI Physical Therapy play at Silver Cross Field in downtown Joliet, Illinois, and are members of the professional, independent Frontier League. The Frontier League is a 14-team league entering its 23rd season of play in 2015.
