Bellingham, Wash. - The Bellingham Slam will be honoring Whatcom County's two state high school football champions at the team's basketball games next week, the team announced today.

The Slam will be hosting a "Meridian Night" on Tuesday, Dec. 12 when they play the Fresno Heatwave. To help congratulate the school's state champion football program, all Meridian football players, coaches, and staff will get into the game for free. In addition, Meridian High School students and faculty will be admitted for just $1.00.

On Wednesday, Dec. 13 it will be Lynden's turn to be celebrated, as the Slam will be holding the same promotion for Lynden High School's football team. Once again, all Lynden football players, coaches, and staff will get into the game for free. Lynden High School students and faculty will also be admitted for $1.00.

Each night will feature a variety of entertainment from each school and, in addition, one lucky person each night will have a chance to win round-trip airfare on Allegiant Air to Las Vegas during one of the in-game contests.

Both games tip-off at 7 p.m. at Whatcom Pavilion on the campus of Whatcom Community College. For more information, call the Bellingham Slam at 734-SLAM or visit their website at www.bellinghamslam.com.
