
Skyrockets sweep Beijing

San Jose, CA. In the second game of a two-game series with the Beijing Aoshen Olympians (playing out of Maywood, California) at the San Jose Civic Auditorium, the San Jose Skyrockets got off to a fast start in the game. They built a 15-point lead with 1:45 left before finishing the period with a 30-16 lead. San Jose maintained a double-digit lead in the second quarter until Beijing cut the lead to 36-27 with 7:54 left in the period. They then closed within six points with 3:44 to go before San Jose built it back to an 11 point halftime lead.
The Skyrockets regained momentum in the 3rd quarter stretching its lead to 83-58 with 4:25 left and then closing out the quarter with a 90-66 lead. San Jose continued its aggressive play in the 4th quarter by mixing inside power and outside shooting that helped increase their lead to 28 points with 5:50 to go before finishing with a 108-91 win.
Jamar Howard led San Jose with 21 points and "Mr. Consistent" Jason Smith added 19 points with 8 rebounds. Lamar Castile tallied 17. Beijing's Huang Hai Bei scored 24 points. For more information, visit www.sjskyrockets.com or www.abalive.com.
