
Skyrockets Suffer Tough Defeat On the Road

Albany, NY - December 18, 2006 - After a long night on the bus, the Skyrockets played against the Albany Patroons for the first meeting between the two American Conference leaders. The Skyrockets, having played nine hours away in Pittsburgh the night before, showed signs of fatigue early in the game. They were also playing short a man with Dale Miller still on injured reserve.
The Patroons started the game quickly witrh a 35-28 lead over the Skyrockets after one quarter. By half-time, the lead grew to 19 and continued from there. Albany ended the game on top 142-107 and collected all 7 quarter points, putting them in first place in the American Conference. The Skyrockets dropped to second place in the conference with a 4.1 quarter point average. Indiana trails in a distant third with a 2.63 quarter point average.
Jitim Young was the leading scorer for Minot with 27 points, and Steve Castleberry had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds in the game. Jamario Moon lead the Patroons with 28 points.
The Skyrockets have will take a few days off for the holidays and will return to Albany for a two-game rematch against the Patroons on Tuesday, December 26th and Friday, December 29th.
Their next home game is Tuesday, January 2nd against the Indiana Alley Cats. Fans can purchase tickets by calling 839-SLAM or visiting the Skyrockets office in the lower level of the Minot Municipal Auditorium.
