Minot Skyrockets News Release

Minot, ND - October 1, 2007 - The Minot Skyrockets are pleased to announce the first player signings for the 2007-08 season. They have signed two point guards, Kellen Millner and Kyle Keyes, pending league approval.

Millner (6'5, 195 lb.) was a point guard at Creighton University in 2004-05. In 2007, he signed with the Panteras de Miranda in the Venezuelan LPB. He averaged 14.5 points per game in 39 games and was selected to the LPB All-Star Team.

"We like the Millner signing because he ran the point guard position at a solid college program at Creighton. He was also an All-Star in the Venezuelan league which is rare for an American playing there for the first time," said Head Coach Chris Daleo.

Keyes (6'2, 180 lb.) played at the University of Montana in 2000-01. He was a United States Basketball Academy All-Star selection and averaged 18 points and 10 assists. After college, he moved on to the Northwest Summer Pro League where he averaged 21 points, 10.1 assists, and 5.2 rebounds. In 2004, he participated in the L.A. Top 100 camp, averaging 17 points, 8 assists, and 3.5 steals. That same year he was invited to the Seattle Sonics Pre-Season workouts. In the summer of 2004, he joined the Harlem Globetrotters and scored 35 points in the Harlem All-Star game in San Diego. Keyes played with the Globetrotters from 2004-2006.

"We met Kyle while at the Vegas Summer Leagues. He brings a lot of experience to the table, and he is very excited to come to camp and compete," said Daleo.

These two mark the first player signings for the upcoming season. League play begins on November 16, 2007. The Skyrockets begin their season on the road against the Butte Daredevils. The first home games are scheduled for November 30th and December 1st against the Rio Grande Valley Silverados. Season tickets for the upcoming season are still available.
