MINOT, ND - December 11, 2006 - The Minot Skyrockets finished a three-game road trip 3-0, to put them 4-2 for the season. On Thursday, the Skyrockets had a rematch against the Utah Eagles. The Skyrockets lost to the Eagles the previous Friday, but this time Ray Cunningham took over the fourth quarter for Minot, scoring 14 points leading the Skyrockets to a 113-102 win over the Utah Eagles in Salt Lake City. Steve Castleberry dominated the middle with 23 points and 8 rebounds, and Dale Miller controlled the perimeter with 17 points and 4 assists in the Minot win. Cunningham finished the game

On Saturday, the Skyrockets faced Kevin Pittsnogle and conference opponent Pittsburgh Xplosion for the first time this season. Minot sizzled from the floor connecting on 54% of its shots from the field, including 11-18 from three-point range. They also controlled the boards out-rebounding Pittsburgh 58-43. After the Xplosion briefly held an early lead, Minot stormed back to win the opening quarter 28-17. The Skyrockets maintained control and went on to win the first three quarters and finished with 6.5 quarter points, to 0.5 for Pittsburgh, and defeated them 122-97.

After a tough overnight bus trip, the Skyrockets had their third meeting against the Indiana Alley Cats this season. Having gone 1-1 at home against the Alley Cats, the Skyrockets wanted to continue the 2-game winning streak. The Skyrockets struggled the first half, giving Indiana two quarter points, but they fought back in the third. And by the end of the fourth quarter, Minot had won two quarter points and sent the game into overtime. The Skyrockets dominated the 5-minute overtime period and defeated the Alley Cats 124-118. They also won the quarter points 5-2, putting themselves in first place in the American Division.

On Tuesday, December 12th, the Skyrockets will meet-up against the reigning CBA champions, the Yakama Sun Kings. The Sun Kings are veterans of the CBA league and have taken the league title four times. "It will be a tough match-up and a tough game to the end. Our guys played hard this weekend, and they will continue to play hard. They are anxious to put on a good show for the home crowd, so fans should come out to support their team," said Head Coach Chris Daleo. Tip-off for Tuesday's game is at 7:05pm, but come early because the first 500 fans through the door will get free Skyrockets Thundersticks.

The Skyrockets will also play on Thursday against the Butte Daredevils (2-1) at 7:05pm. This will be the first match-up between the border-state teams and could shape-up to be a big rivalry. Thursday night will be College Night to celebrate the end of finals for MSU students. Students will get $5 silver tickets with a valid college ID and Sports on Tap will offer drink specials at the game.

Coach Daleo has put together a spectacular team, and fans can expect an exciting game every night. Desmond Ferguson leads the league with 27.8 points per game, Jitim Young is out in front with 3.4 steals per game, and Kenyon Gamble ranks number one with 3.2 blocks per game. With play like that and only $10 a ticket, fans won't be disappointed with their new pro-basketball team.
