July 14, 2006 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
Sussex Skyhawks News Release
SUSSEX, NJ (July 14, 2006, 2006) - The Sussex Skyhawks will be hosting their first annual Classic Car Show on July 23, 2006, at 12:00 p.m., before the 2 p.m. game versus the Worcester Tornadoes. To "turn back the clock", the Skyhawks will be offering hot dogs for just $.50 throughout the game.
All participants in the car show will have the opportunity to participate in a pre-game parade around the baseball field and will be eligible for various contests and prizes voted for by the fans, including a chance to throw out the first pitch before the game. As a thank you, the Skyhawks will present all antique car owners with two vouchers good for any remaining 2006 Skyhawks home game. All vehicles are welcome; there are no year limitations for this event.
"We are excited to host our first annual antique car show at Skylands Park on July 23," said General Manager Ben Wittkowski. "We invite everyone to come out to the ball park to enjoy the car show and an exciting day of baseball. We have established this event with the intentions of instituting a new annual tradition for the Skyhawks to offer the families of Sussex County."
All participants who would like to show their car must have a ticket for that day's game and RSVP with the Skyhawks. For more information or to RSVP, contact Gregg Kubala at: 973-300-1000 x 15. For more information on the car show, this year's exciting promotional schedule or how to purchase tickets, fans can log on to www.sussexskyhawks.com .
In an effort to make Skylands Park more family-friendly, the Skyhawks have implemented an expanded concessions menu utilizing new food preparation facilities installed by the organization during the offseason. In addition to fan-favorites like hot dogs and hamburgers, the team will now offer many specialty items such as Buffalo wings, popcorn chicken nuggets and fried shrimp. While offering this expanded new menu, the team has lowered the prices of all concessions; hot dogs that cost $3.50 at Skylands Park last year now cost $2.00.
As promised, the Skyhawks have cut prices across the board. Individual game tickets are now $10 for box seats, $8 for reserved seats and $6 for general admission bleachers. Parking fees will now be $3 per automobile. Single-game tickets for all remaining games are on sale now, including the launch of the team's new online ticket availability on the team's website, www.sussexskyhawks.com . In addition to using the team's website, tickets can be obtained in many different ways. The box office at Skylands Park is open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday to Friday and 10 a.m-1 p.m. on Saturdays. Tickets can also be purchased via phone at 973-300-1000 or via hard mail by printing out an order form and mailing it in. In all cases, the consumer will have the option of having the tickets mailed to an address or held at the will call booth on the day of the game.
The Skyhawks are also offering many different group discount packages. Season tickets are available for $380 for box seats and $300 for reserved seats. Also available are 6, 12 and 25 game mini-plans, picnic and birthday packages. Please visit www.sussexskyhawks.com for more information.
