Skyhawks Soar in Showcase Debut

LAS VEGAS - In its first-ever appearance in the MGM Resorts NBA G League Showcase, the College Park Skyhawks (9-7) recorded a 113-101 victory over the Austin Spurs (8-8).
Six players for the Skyhawks scored in double figures. Guard Cat Barber had a double-double with 21 points and 10 assists in 30 minutes off the bench. Atlanta Hawks two-way player Brandon Goodwin added 21 points and five assists while reserve Kenny Gabriel contributed 19 points and nine rebounds in the contest. College Park improved to 9-7 with tonight's performance.
For Austin, San Antonio Spurs assignment player Keldon Johnson led the team with a game-high 25 points along with nine rebounds. Forward Luka Samanic, also on assignment from the Spurs, registered a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Austin fell to 8-8 with the result of tonight's contest.
College Park and Austin will each conclude their Winter Showcase appearance with games on Saturday, Dec. 21. The Skyhawks take on the Iowa Wolves (8-8) at 5 p.m. PT while the Spurs will face the Capital City Go-Go (7-8) at 6 p.m. PT.
