Sussex Skyhawks News Release

The Sussex Skyhawks are proud to announce the signing of RHP Matt Salvato. The 25-year-old Milford, Conn. native is back for his second stint with Sussex; he was a member of the 2008 Can-Am League Champion Skyhawks, compiling a 10-4 record and 4.73 ERA in 97 innings pitched that season.

Salvato is 12-7 with a 4.11 ERA as a professional. He attended Holyoke Community College and went undrafted, signing in 2007 with the Can-Am League's Worcester Tornadoes. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound hurler split time between Worcester and the New Haven County Cutters that year before joining the Skyhawks in 2008.

To make room for Salvato on the roster, Sussex released RHP Jared Yecker. Yecker was 0-1 with a 7.45 ERA in seven appearances for the Skyhawks this season.
