SkyHawks Look to Improve Record before 2014

December 27, 2013 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
Ottawa SkyHawks News Release

The SkyHawks prepare for their last stretch of the 2013 calendar year throughout the holidays.

Christmas has come and gone and the SkyHawks waste no time making use of the remainder of their season with the NBL as they look to bump their 9-10 record up a spot or two over the course of this weekend.

Playing without an active back-up point guard (Stefan Welsh was acquired last week but waiting for FIBA clearance that could come only after the first week of January), this weekend looks like a tough one.

Why this weekend? Because the SkyHawks take on the triple threat that is the Windsor Express at their home, the Mississauga Power at their home, and finally concluding the weekend with a home game on the Sunday as Ottawa hosts Brampton for what will be their 5th match of the month.

The SkyHawks take on the Express on Friday in hopes of finally securing a victory over Windsor. These two teams faced off earlier at the end of November followed by a consecutive match at the beginning of December. And although the first of the two games was at home for the SkyHawks, they managed to give up the win by only 3 points each time.

This will be the second time the SkyHawks take on the Power and quite possibly their third win against them. It should be noted the SkyHawks played the Power in their home court and lost by three points with the final score ringing in at 108-111.

Lastly, the SkyHawks round up the weekend on Sunday afternoon with what will surely be an exciting match against the Brampton A's. The SkyHawks have played the A's four times this month and successfully managed to secure the victory on 3 of the 4 games played. The SkyHawks look to dish up a fourth victory against the A's this month as they come off the road and play in our very own Canadian Tire Center.

Next Home Game: Make sure to join us this Sunday December 29th at the Canadian Tire Centre at 2:00pm to watch the Ottawa SKyHawks take on the Brampton A's.
