Sky Sox Announce National Anthem Tryouts

Colorado Springs Sky Sox News Release

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - The Colorado Springs Sky Sox will be hosting vocalist auditions for the 2011 season on Saturday, March 5th from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the main stage in Chapel Hills Mall. Soloists, duets, trios and quartets are invited to audition for The Star Spangled Banner and God Bless America. Interested parties who would like to reserve an audition time between noon and 2:00 PM should contact Wes Sharp in the Sky Sox promotions department at (719) 304-5604 or through e-mail at wsharp@skysox.com. Open auditions will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

The top performances, as determined by the Sky Sox promotions staff, will perform live at Security Service Field during the 2011 baseball season which begins on Thursday, April 7th and runs through Monday, September 5th. The very best performer of the day will be selected to have the honor of singing the National Anthem on a marquee game during the 2011 baseball season. In addition, one selected performer will earn the opportunity to sing God Bless America on July 4th.

All vocal performances must be a cappella and only traditional renditions of songs will be considered for selection.
