Howell, N.J. - Sky Blue FC (0-4-2, 2 Points) is back home to face off against Portland Thorns FC for the second time this season Saturday, May 25 at 6 p.m. ET at Yurcak Field in Piscataway N.J. for a Memorial Day weekend matchup.

Streaming

The match will be streamed live on Yahoo Sports and in the NWSL app. International fans can watch on NWSLsoccer.com.

Preview

Sky Blue currently sits in eighth place in the National Women's Soccer League standings, one point ahead of Orlando Pride and four points behind Reign FC. The Thorns sit in sixth with a 2-1-2 record and eight points. The all-time record for Sky Blue FC against the Portland Thorns is 6-7-4.

Raquel Rodriguez continues to threaten the opposing backlines as she netted her second goal of the season on the road last weekend on May 18 against Reign FC. Continuing to be a creator on the pitch for Sky Blue, forward Savannah McCaskill is averaging 1.8 chances created per game, tied for the fourth most in the league.

"Going into the game tomorrow against Portland, we are really looking to put a full 90 minutes together," stated McCaskill. "From start to finish we want to impose ourselves on them and ultimately get the 3 points at home before heading into a break."

Opponent

The Thorns are coming off their first loss of the season after playing the Washington Spirit away in Boyds, Maryland on May 18. The 3-1 loss to the Spirit snapped a six-game unbeaten streak in league play.

Four out of the 12 Portland goals scored this season have come off of set pieces, tying them for the most goals scored on set pieces in the league. But five major threats in the attack who have scored 10 out of the 12 goals for Portland will not be with the team due to the FIFA Women's World Cup. Thorns captain Christine Sinclair (3 goals, 1 assist), Caitlin Foord (3 goals, 1 assist), Tobin Heath (2 goals, 1 assist), Andressinha (1 goal) and Emily Sonnett (1 goal) are all out for Saturday's matchup. Additionally, Portland will be without Ellie Carpenter, Adriana Franch, Lindsey Horan, and Hayley Raso.

Sky Blue FC vs. Portland Thorns FC Rewind

Sky Blue played the Thorns earlier in the season on April 29 with the scoreline ending in a 2-2 draw at Yurcak Field. Both goals came from the feet of Carli Lloyd, with the first goal assisted by Raquel Rodriguez.

Looking Ahead

After Saturday's matchup with Portland, Sky Blue FC has some time off before they are back to face Utah Royals FC away in Sandy, Utah at the Rio Tinto Stadium on June 15 at 10 p.m. ET. Sky Blue will return home to face the Orlando Pride on June 22, at 7 p.m. when the club will have their Pride Night Celebration.
