
Estelle Johnson Heading to France after Being Named to Cameroon's World Cup Roster

Howell, N.J - Estelle Johnson will be heading to her first FIFIA Women's World Cup this summer as Cameroon announced their official roster earlier today.
Johnson, a 30 year-old defender from Fort Collins, Colorado, has been training with Cameroon since May 4 when she was named to the team's preliminary World Cup roster.
"I'm extremely excited to have been named to the World Cup roster for Cameroon," stated Johnson. "This is something I've wanted since I was eight years old and I'm beyond grateful for the opportunity to represent my birth nation. I'm looking forward to an amazing experience! Allez Les Lionnes!"
Johnson has started four times for Sky Blue FC this season after joining the club on January 10, 2019.
Cameroon is in Group E of the World Cup along with Canada, the Netherlands, and New Zealand. The FIFA Women's World Cup kicks off on June 7th and Cameroon's first match is on June 10th against Canada (3 p.m. ET) at Stade de la Mosson in Montepellier. Cameroon will face the Netherlands on June 15 (9 a.m. ET) at Stade du Hainaut in Valenciennes. Their last match of the group stage will be on June 20 (12 p.m. ET) at Stade de la Mosson in Montpellier.
