
Skills Day Lineups Unveiled

Brandon, Manitoba - Brandon Wheat King coaches Mike Kelly, Dwayne Gylywoychuk and Brad Wells have applied the finishing touches to the two rosters for Sunday's 2nd Annual Skills Day to be held at the Keystone Centre. Wheat King players will participate in seven different events including Relay, Hardest Shot, Fastest Skater, Accuracy, Shootout, Shootout and Breakaway Relay.
Tickets to the annual event are $2 and are available at the Wheat Kings' office, Goals for Kids office (on Princess Avenue), BDO Dunwoody, Investors Group as well as Brandon Source for Sports.
The Celebrity coaches include Tyler Glenn and Heather Prosak of 94.7 Star FM as well as KX96 FM's Matt Logan while the play-by-play voice of the Wheat Kings, Bruce Luebke of 880 CKLQ will serve as master of ceremonies. In addition to all 24 players and coaches on the ice, two "Honorary Captains" will be front and center to lend their vocal support for their respective teams.
The White Team will be handled by 11-year old Trevor Garbutt of Rapid City while the Black Team will play for 10-year old Melina Robertson of Brandon. Following the event, players will be available for autographs and photos in the Keystone Centre Convention Hall from 4-5 p.m. The White Team won last year's inaugural event, capturing fourf six events. Right-winger Jordin Tootoo, who is currently skating with the National Hockey League's Nashville Predators, led the winners by winning two events - Skating and Hardest Shot. Of the returning players, only Tyler Dyck will be back to defend his title, having won the Accuracy event last year.
All proceeds from this year's Skills Day will go to the Wheat Kings' Goals for Kids Campaign.
