
Sixth-Ranked Ripknees Extend Winning Streak to Six

St. Paul, Minn. - The Minnesota Ripknees (20-7) continued their solid inaugural season with a 129-123 victory over the Hollywood Fame on Sunday afternoon. Karandick Ogunride led the Ripknees with 30 points and 20 rebounds. The Ripknees, currently ranked sixth in the ABA power rankings, were also paced by Jamel Staten's 30 points and eight rebounds. Staten also converted six key free throws down the stretch to counter a 14-0 run by Hollywood which cut the Ripknee lead to three points.
Minnesota led the contest from start to finish. Johnnie Gilbert added a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Tyrell Sledge also scored 20 points for Minnesota while Jaison Williams contributed 15.
The Fame were led by Larry "Bone Crusher" Williams of the And1 Mix Tour who scored a game-high 51 points.
The Minnesota Ripknees return to action on Feb. 23 when they travel to take on divisional rival Quad City River Hawks at 7:05 p.m.
