Minnesota Ripknees News Release

Ripknees Set to Play in the ABA

The Minnesota Ripknees announced this week we are set to participate in the ABA this season. We also announced that the organization is under new ownership. The Ripknees will now be headed by Jam Entertainment Inc., a sports and retail entertainment company. Look for our season schedule to be released in next weeks Ripknees Weekly, as it is in the process of being finalized. All our home games will be played at Roy Wilkins Auditorium. Ripknees season tickets, mini-plans, and single game tickets are now on sale. Contact the Ripknees office at 651-647-5633 for more information.

Ripknees to Hold Rookie Camp

Tomorrow, the Ripknees are holding our rookie camp at the Salvation Army in St. Paul. The camp will give first-year players a chance to be invited to the Ripknees training camp which begins November 12th.

Coats for Kids

The Minnesota Ripknees players, staff, and dance team all volunteered this week with the Salvation Army's Coats for Kids program. More than 259,000 coats and winter accessories have been distributed to Twin Cities' children since the program began.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
