
NH-VT border skirmish looms

The Manchester Millrats are set to open their two week training camp at the Sportszone in Derry, NH on Monday afternoon. Standing in their path this weekend is a preseason matchup with the defending ABA champion Vermont Frost Heaves. The hoops border skirmish is set practically on the banks of the Connecticut River, and tips off Saturday at 4:00 pm at Hartford High School in Hartford, VT.
The Millrats have narrowed down their roster to 14 players from an open tryout of over 70 and a selection of other free agents. The 14 players in training camp are:

"We're using this game as a learning experience, and as an opportunity to see how the guys do under fire, against a top notch ABA team," explained Millrats Head Coach Larry Lessett. "Live action can be a good opportunity to help our guys understand what it will take to win at this level."
The Millrats are a new entry in the American Basketball Association (ABA), and will play their home games in the 'Fieldhouse' on the campus of Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, NH. The season and home opener is set for Sunday November 11, 2007 at 4:35 p.m. versus the Boston Blizzard.
