ST. LUCIE, Fla. (June 23, 2012) - The St. Lucie Mets scored six runs in the third inning en route to a 10-3 victory in the series rubber match with the Fort Myers Miracle on Saturday night at Digital Domain Park.

The Mets sent 10 hitters to the plate and touched up Miracle starter Cole Nelson for six runs, three earned, with four hits. T.J. Rivera and Alan Dykstra had sacrifice flies while Alonzo Harris, Travis Taijeron, and Juan Torres each had RBI hits.

Trailing 7-0, the Miracle offense finally got to Mets starter Rafael Montero. After giving up just one hit in the first six innings, the Miracle picked up a single each from Danny Ortiz and Kyle Knudson. With one out, Montero (1-0) plunked Jairo Perez to load the bases. Perez would be the last batter faced by Montero as St. Lucie manager Ryan Ellis brought in Adam Kolarek from the bullpen.

Danny Rams greeted Kolarek with an RBI single up the middle to put Fort Myers on the board. Andy Leer, the next hitter, worked the count to 3-1 on Kolarek before ripping a two-run double inside the bag down the left field line. After two runs scored, Rams was cut down at home plate on a relay from Rivera.

With the Miracle now trailing 7-3, the Mets answered with back-to-back hits to begin the bottom half of the seventh off of Miracle reliever Ricky Bowen. With runners at second and third, Bowen worked an 0-2 count before Travis Taijeron launched his first homerun in the Florida State League over the left field fence restoring a seven run lead for the Mets.

Nelson (3-2) was credited with the loss. The only Miracle player with multiple hit was Ortiz with a 3-for-4 night.

Fort Myers (29-41, 1-2) returns to Hammond Stadium on Sunday afternoon to begin a four-game series with the Tampa Yankees at 4:05 p.m. The Miracle begin a stretch of 12 home games in the next 16 days including two fireworks nights, June 29 and July 3.

Fans that want to listen to Sunday's game can tune into the State Farm pregame show with the "Voice of the Miracle" Brice Zimmerman and Adam MacDonald at 3:45 p.m. on www.miraclebaseball.com.
