Six Knights Selected in 2012 NHL Entry Draft

LONDON, ONTARIO: The London Knights Hockey Club is proud to announce that six London Knights were selected this past weekend in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft in Pittsburgh, PA, representing a CHL record for the number of players drafted by any club team in 2012. Leading the way was Finnish defenseman Olli Maatta who was taken 22nd Overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins. Maatta, the Knights 1st Overall pick in the 2011 CHL Import Draft, was tied for the team leading 23 points in 19 playoff games this past spring.

Also selected this weekend was: Chris Tierney 55th overall to the San Jose Sharks, Josh Anderson 95th overall to the Columbus Blue Jackets, Andreas Athanasiou 110th overall to the Detroit Redwings, Seth Griffith 131st overall to the Boston Bruins and Ryan Rupert 157th overall to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
