
Sioux Falls Acquires Forward Kasib Powell

NEW YORK - The Sioux Falls Skyforce today announced the acquisition of forward Kasib Powell from the available player pool.
Powell, 6-7, 218-pounds, was a member of the 2007-08 Memphis Grizzlies Training Camp before being waived prior to the start of the season. Powell played in the 2007 Pepsi Pro Summer League with the Indiana Pacers where he averaged 7.2 points and 3.6 rebounds in five games.
Prior to the 2006-07 season, Powell played in seven preseason games with the Orlando Magic where he averaged 7.6 points and 3.9 rebounds in 22.3 minutes including 14 points at the Charlotte Bobcats on Oct. 10, 2006.
A product of Texas Tech, Powell averaged 14.8 points 6.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 33 games during his senior season when he led his team to the semi-final round of the NIT tournament. For his efforts, Powell was earned All-Big 12 Conference Honorable Mention accolades.
Powell replaces Antwayne Robinson, who left the team.
