December 15, 2018 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Sioux City Musketeers News Release
SIOUX CITY, IA - The Musketeers were back at home on Saturday night for the second game of a weekend doubleheader against the Dubuque Fighting Saints. Unfortunately Sioux City was unable to complete the sweep, losing by a final score of 2-1.
Dubuque would strike first in this one thanks to a powerplay goal by Logan Pietila. Sioux City would answer thanks to Martin Pospisil. Ian Malcolmson fed the puck to Pospisil who split the Dubuque defense before beating Matthew Thiessen to tie the game up at one. The Fighting Saints would re-take the lead with just under four minutes to play in the period on another powerplay goal, this time by Matias Maccelli. Sioux City would head into the locker room down one.
While Sioux City managed to keep Dubuque off the board the next two periods, they were unable to find any more offense in this one. Final score 2-1.
The Musketeers will now head on the holiday break before returning to action on December 29th against the Lincoln Stars. Puck drop set for 7:05pm.
